04 April 2017, 18:00 - 20:30
The Assembly Rooms, Fenkle Street, Newcastle,
To celebrate all that is good about British-made brands and manufacturing, we will be joined by two people who are hugely passionate about putting the great into Britain by keeping alive the traditions and skilled craftsmanship it takes to develop world-leading products right here in the UK.
Stuart Garner is a serial entrepreneur who, in 2008, brought the legendary British motorcycle manufacturer Norton Motorcycles back to the UK when it looked destined for the US scrap-heap. Fast-forward to today and Stuart has reawakened a giant of the automotive world and Norton is not only riding again, but it has a waiting list of over a year for its products with the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Orlando Bloom having waited in the queue.
John Elliott is founder of Ebac and known throughout the North East as an ardent advocate for British manufacturing. His County Durham based business recently added a new product to their portfolio, investing £7m in the development of the first British manufactured washing machines for 20 years. The result, a quality product, a steady stream of orders and a number of new contact wins with major retailers.
Join us as we tap into the thinking of two hugely successful entrepreneurs who are committed to keeping it British.
