Unique Magazines Launch a Children’s Comic Club!
Posted on the 12 April 2018
Newcastle based company Unique Magazines have launched The Comic Club, a subscription pack for children aged 7 to 11 years old. The Comic Club aims to provide fun, educational and engaging activities that parents and Grandparents can enjoy with their children at home.
With children aged 5 to 16 spending an average of six and a half hours a day in front of a computer screen / tablet, parents are in a constant battle trying to inspire their children to get off their computers and tablets. The Comic Club is a great way to get them excited and gives them activities and interests to get involved with in their spare time.
Recognising that the children’s magazine industry is largely filled with magazines that have television tie-ins and plastic toys taped on to the front, Unique Magazines wanted to create something that championed the educational side of magazines. With that in mind they teamed up with the likes of National Geographic Kids, Anorak and Eco Kids Planet to bring inspirational fun and hands-on learning into homes through reading, writing and creativity.
The Comic Club offers a 6 month subscription option that includes 5 packs or 12 month subscription option that includes 10 packs delivered direct to your door. Each pack is themed and contains 2 hand-selected magazines and an extra activity that encourages children to be creative.
John Porrett, Managing Director of Unique Magazines and founder of The Comic Club said we have for many years worked with schools on providing magazines for independent reading and development and felt this was the next step in creating a club that encouraged reading, engagement and creativity that can be enjoyed by all the family and can be used by schools for lesson plans and group activities. We are looking to have over 2000 members over the next 2 years and to bring on more comics that link with our ethos.
