Flame Heating Group is fuelling its expansion plans in Scotland with a key appointment and further job creation.
Darren Kipling has joined the independent Heating & Plumbing merchant as Commercial Manager for Scotland.
Darren, 30, possesses more than 13 years’ industry experience, having started out as a warehouse assistant at a national merchant before progressing to become a technical sales advisor.
At Flame, he is responsible for the business development of the commercial aspect of the business in Scotland, as well as managing and developing key client accounts.
Gateshead-headquartered Flame is set to launch its third trade counter in Scotland, in spring, with the opening of an Edinburgh branch, which will initially create two jobs.
Flame, which operates ten trade counters throughout the UK, launched its first branches in Scotland in February, with openings in Ayr and Glasgow.
In addition, the company has expanded its head office team with the appointment of Victoria Brown as Assistant Management Accountant, while two new apprenticeships within Flame have been supported.
Following the latest raft of appointments, the Flame employee count has risen to 56.
Darren Kipling said: “I am excited by the project Flame is embarking on in Scotland, and we are hoping to replicate the success that the company has enjoyed in the North East. We have been operating in the country for only a short period, but are experiencing a lot of positivity and strong growth, which bodes well for the future success of Flame.”
Danny Byrne, Development Director for Scotland at Flame Heating Group, added: “Darren brings a wealth of experience and his enthusiasm fits in perfectly with what we’re trying to achieve in Scotland. Flame is continuing to grow at a strong pace, and these latest appointments will support and drive forward our ambitious expansion plans.”
