National Recognition for Gateshead College - still time for students to enrol

Gateshead College has achieved an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted inspection report, placing it at the forefront of further education (FE) and demonstrating it is leading the way on the Government’s skills agenda.

The college is one of only two FE colleges in the country to be recognised as outstanding this academic year. It is exceeding national targets for its performance, with a success rate cited as ‘exceptionally high for all learners’ at 8.2% above the national average.

For any young person looking to take the first step onto the career ladder, Gateshead College is an ideal choice. Former students have gone on to enjoy highly sought after careers with prestigious employers, including the Royal Marines and The Ritz, London. The college is also praised for the high proportion of its learners achieving places at Russell Group universities, including Oxford, Cambridge and Newcastle.

The college, which operates six campuses, offers a wide range of programmes. From health and social care and travel to construction and performing arts, there are plenty of programmes to choose from.

Students can still enrol for all courses starting this September – including A Levels, vocational qualifications, degrees, part-time programmes and apprenticeships.

Plus, anyone that needs the right qualifications to study a degree can join an Access to Higher Education programme in a range of subjects from teaching to business and computing, health or sport and it will cost nothing if they go on to complete a degree.
