Jon Elwell is a technology entrepreneur with over 30 years’ experience in engineering, industrial automation, and inventory management systems. Beginning his career as the UK’s first dedicated vending technology engineer for Cromwell Supply Systems, he worked directly with major blue-chip manufacturers including Rolls-Royce and GE, supporting large-scale operational environments and implementing best-practice control systems. His career has focused on reducing waste, improving governance, and embedding sustainable process improvement within manufacturing organisations.
In 2013, Jon co-founded Tbox Ltd, a Northeast-based technology company specialising in patented RFID and automated inventory solutions. He has led the development of multiple proprietary platforms while maintaining a strong emphasis on long-term customer partnerships, operational support, and continuous system refinement. Jon works closely with regional subcontractors and engineering partners, ensuring that the majority of product design, assembly, and manufacturing remains within the Northeast. His commitment to strengthening the regional manufacturing ecosystem is central to Tbox’s operating model, combining innovation with local economic contribution.
Jon continues to oversee technical strategy, partner collaboration, and product evolution, including strategic alliances with global technology providers. Alongside his professional work, he is a musician and songwriter, with music providing a creative counterbalance to engineering and business leadership.
