I've spent over 30 years helping organisations figure out one of the hardest problems in business, whether the right people are in the right roles and what to do when they're not.
As a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, HCPC registered and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, I bring both the scientific rigour and the human instinct to make that work. But the credential I'm most proud of? The trust clients still place in me after decades of working together.
My career started at British Airways and Northumbrian Water, where I designed and ran large-scale assessment, leadership and development programmes from the ground up, including team and leadership exercises built for the outdoors, where real character tends to show up quickly. From there I've worked with organisations across private, public and third sectors in the UK, US, Europe and Africa, at every level from emerging talent to Board.
Today, as a co-founder of Wharton Global, I focus on what I've always found most compelling, leadership effectiveness, coaching, emotional intelligence, and the decisions that define how organisations grow (or don’t!) We integrate the science of psychology with the reality of organisational life, and we do it with candour, empathy and a focus on measurable growth.
Outside of work, I'm as serious about football as I am about leadership. I played (still play….), I studied it, and I still believe a well-run team football team gives you great insight into human behaviour.
If you're thinking about leadership risk, succession, or how to build something that lasts, I'd genuinely enjoy that conversation.
