Rachel McBryde is the founder of McBryde & Co, a Newcastle-based strategic communications consultancy, and has over 25 years of experience in marketing and communications. Her focus is on helping ambitious organisations create and deliver meaningful change, growth, and a better future.
A former BBC journalist, she worked as a national magazine editor, transitioning to communications as the head of media relations at Gateshead Council, before moving agency side.
In 2019 she opened the doors to McBryde & Co, and today the agency works with regional, national and international clients, including the NHS, Northumberland County Council, Ward Hadaway, The Alnwick Garden, Sembcorp and SMD.
Established in 2019, the agency is proudly a B Corp Certified company, specialising in communications for professional services, clean energy and environmental services, construction, healthcare and the public sector.
McBryde & Co is the current North East Marketing Awards Agency of the Year (under 20 employees) and in 2023 and 2024 was awarded the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) North East Small Agency of the Year.
Rachel is a member of the CIPR and sits on the regional committee. She has a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute, a Master's in Public Communication from Leeds Trinity and All Saints and a BA in Journalism.
