We are delighted to confirm that nominations for the North East Entrepreneurial Awards 2020 are now open.
This year has been exceptional and we are looking to recognise our region’s entrepreneurs who have demonstrated strong leadership standing out from their peers during these challenging and unprecedented times.
The 2020 winners, announced as part of a week-long social media campaign starting 8th February 2021, will join our prestigious Hall of Fame.
Winners will be selected in 5 categories:
- Emerging Talent: An individual who is building a business of outstanding potential, which has been trading for six years or less (as of 31 December 2020).
- Scale-up: A business owner who is leading a scaling company achieving 20%+ annualised growth in either turnover, profit or employee numbers for any (but ideally all) of the past three years. We are looking for the entrepreneur who’s been able to navigate the challenges brought by the pandemic and stay on course to achieve their future growth ambitions.
- Entrepreneur of the Year: A seasoned entrepreneur who has shown incredible resilience and strength, particularly this year, to lead their own significant business to outstanding success through innovation, teamwork and leadership skills.
- Mentor of the Year: Selected for their outstanding contribution over the last twelve months to altruistically supporting the growth of fellow entrepreneurs’ businesses.
Nominations close on 30th November 2020 and the Emerging Talent, Scale Up and Entrepreneur of the Year will be decided by a distinctive panel of judges made up of regional entrepreneurs and supporters.
Shortlisted finalists will be notified in December 2020 and invited to a panel interview with the judges in early January 2021. All shortlisted finalists will join the social media campaign to celebrate their achievements. The Mentor of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Awards will be decided by the Entrepreneurs' Forum Board of Directors.
Nominees do not need to be members of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum but they must have a significant controlling interest in their own business in each of the Emerging Talent, Scale-up and Entrepreneur of the Year categories. Nominees for Mentor of the Year do not need to be entrepreneurs in their own right.
