Automate Legal Awarded 2026 Global Recognition Award for AI-Led Transformation of Legal Cost Drafting

Automate Legal has been awarded a 2026 Global Recognition Award for its AI-powered legal automation platform, Jurana, recognising its demonstrable impact on legal cost drafting within the UK legal sector.

The Global Recognition Awards assess organisations across innovation, market impact, and operational execution. Each year, more than 15,000 applications are reviewed by an independent judging panel, with fewer than six percent receiving recognition. Evaluation is conducted using the Rasch measurement model, a statistically rigorous framework designed to enable objective comparison across different innovation categories.

Automate Legal was recognised for fundamentally improving the way legal costs are drafted and validated in highly regulated environments. Jurana enables legally compliant bills of costs to be produced in minutes rather than days, while maintaining auditability, accuracy, and alignment with court and regulatory requirements.

Automate Legal has gained rave reviews with early enterprise customers reporting measurable operational improvements. These include an estimated 80 percent reduction in drafting resource requirements and annual cost savings of up to £2.5 million through redeployment of staff time and reduced rework.

The judging panel cited Automate Legal’s performance across three core innovation criteria: originality of approach, market impact and scalability, and disruption of established professional workflows. Jurana is already contracted by multiple top-tier UK law firms and is operating at national scale ahead of its wider rollout.

Developed entirely in-house, Jurana employs a proprietary AI engine designed specifically for legal cost drafting. The platform incorporates court formats, SCCO guidance, Legal Aid requirements, and firm-specific policies, enabling consistent, compliant outputs across Inter Partes, Legal Aid, and Court of Protection matters.

Unlike general-purpose AI tools, Jurana does not rely on public models or shared external datasets. All processing is conducted within secure UK-hosted infrastructure, supporting strict data sovereignty and compliance requirements. This architecture has enabled the platform to pass enterprise-level security and information governance reviews undertaken by regulated legal organisations.

Rob Boville, CEO of Automate Legal, said: “This award reflects the substance of what has been built rather than the promise of what might be. Legal cost drafting is complex, highly regulated, and traditionally dependent on years of experience and manual checking. Jurana was designed to support professionals by reducing friction, increasing consistency, and standing up to scrutiny from courts, regulators, and enterprise clients.”

A spokesperson for the Global Recognition Awards commented: “Automate Legal demonstrated a strong combination of technical depth, measurable operational impact, and commercial validation ahead of full market release. The platform addresses a complex problem within a highly regulated industry and shows clear potential for expansion into other common law jurisdictions.”

Automate Legal plans to extend Jurana’s capabilities beyond the UK market, supporting additional common law jurisdictions while maintaining the same standards of compliance, security, and auditability.
