A fast growing firm of solicitors has strengthened its litigation team with a number of key appointments.
EMG Solicitors, which has offices in Durham, Newcastle and recently expanded into Penrith, has grown its litigation department with the addition of experienced solicitor, Joanne Blackwood.
Joanne, who qualified as a solicitor in 2000, joined EMG from a practice in South Shields and works across a range of areas including general civil litigation, contract disputes, contentious probate, landlord and tenant matters, and professional negligence cases.
“EMG has a great reputation so I was delighted to have the opportunity to join them,” said Joanne, from County Durham.
“I was looking to join a bigger firm where there were excellent prospects for the future, so it was a very good fit for me.”
Joanne has joined EMG at a time when the litigation department is growing, which currently is a six strong team led by associate solicitor, Matthew Sigsworth.
It is one of a number of key areas that the award-winning law firm covers, alongside Court of Protection, Family Law, Residential Conveyancing, Employment Law, Wills, Trusts and Probate and Commercial Property.
“It’s very exciting to be part of a department that is continuing to grow and to be part of that expansion,” said Joanne.
Emma Gaudern, Managing Director of EMG Solicitors, said she was delighted that Joanne had joined the company.
