Firms Fuse partnership to build a better future for clients

Two of the key players in North East commercial property have reinforced their commitment to building a better future for tenants across the region.

Fuse Media and Parker Knights have already forged an effective partnership focused on maximising the potential of vacant premises.

And the two firms are working together to explore fresh opportunities in a sector reliant on the seamless transition from non-occupancy to full tenancy.

“I’ve worked closely with Jamie and the team at Fuse for several years,” explains Michael Downey, managing director at Parker Knights.

“There’s a longstanding working relationship there and a level of trust that’s very important in the commercial property world.

“Fuse is always looking at new ways to leverage opportunities within vacant and leased properties and it makes sense for us to do more work together in the future.”

Fuse Media is fast earning a reputation as one of the UK’s most agile data connectivity specialists — working alongside commercial property partners nationwide.

As a member of the Commercial Property Network (CPN), the Newcastle-based firm advises businesses across the country on a variety of issues central to the smooth running of a fast-growing sector.

And director Jamie Mableson said: “Although we work UK-wide it’s fantastic to make a significant impact in our native North East alongside Michael and his colleagues at Parker Knights.

“We share the same values and ethos and it’s a partnership that’s been mutually beneficial from day one.

“Michael encourages us to explore new opportunities and backs us to make life easier for landlords and their tenants. The dialogue between us is always positive and it’s important that businesses in the city join forces where they can.

“I’ve known Michael for many years — stretching back to the days when I was with the Metnor Property Group and he was with Lambert Smith Hampton — and we’ve always worked well together.”

The bulk of Newcastle-based Parker Knights’ work is landlord-led and the office agent specialists make their move when a building — or floors within it — become vacant.

“We get involved in the full refurbishment scheme and repositioning of assets and then work on re-letting of the space,” explains Michael.

“Jamie and the Fuse team are a big part of that process. What they’re able to do with data connectivity, in particular, is hugely beneficial to the landlords and their future tenants.

“On the leasing side there is an increasing demand for early and reliable connectivity. We get Fuse involved at an early stage of the refurbishment process and that approach really pays off.”

Fuse Media continues to grow at pace and has emerged as one of the UK’s leading providers of savings solutions — including flexible data connectivity packages — for new tenants.

Recent work with Parker Knights has seen the two businesses collaborate on a refurbishment project focused on the iconic Nexus building on Newcastle’s Westgate Road.

And Jamie added: “There’s enormous potential for us to do much more together across Newcastle and the North East. Our combined experience and expertise around commercial property can make a genuine difference to landlords and their tenants.”
