Forge Retains Michelin Star And Michelin Green Star For 2026

Forge at Middleton Lodge Estate has retained both its Michelin Star and Michelin Green Star in The 2026 MICHELIN Guide for Great Britain & Ireland.

The awards were confirmed on Monday 9 February 2026 at the Michelin Guide Ceremony at the Convention Centre Dublin.

The Michelin Star recognises the quality and consistency of the cooking, while the Green Star acknowledges the estate’s continued commitment to sustainable practice.

Forge, the fine dining restaurant set within the 200-acre Middleton Lodge estate near Richmond, North Yorkshire, focuses on delivering a unique tasting experience inspired by the surrounding landscape throughout the seasons.

Head Chef Jake Jones works closely with the estate’s gardening team to create courses that are inspired by what is growing in the two-acre walled garden and across the wider 200-acre estate. The menus move with the seasons, drawing inspiration from how the original estate would have functioned and sustained itself.

Service reflects the character of the estate, warm, personal and attentive, with a strong focus on detail throughout the guest experience.

Head Chef Jake Jones, who was named Michelin Young Chef of the Year in 2024, says: “To retain both the Michelin Star and the Green Star means a great deal to us. It’s very special.

“Our guests are what drive us. They keep the team motivated and passionate about creating something new. We’re always looking for ways to be original and to deliver memorable tasting experiences that reflect the stories of the estate and its history, alongside our own creative approach to cooking.

“We couldn’t do this without the whole team, from the gardeners through to the kitchen and front of house. Everyone plays their part, and I’m grateful to work alongside them.”

Estate Owner and Managing Director James Allison adds: “It’s a real pleasure to see the team at Forge retain this recognition. Their dedication to our guests, and their constant drive to improve and create experiences people want to return to, is what makes this possible.

“I’d like to thank every member of the team for their hard work and commitment. We’re fortunate to have such a strong group of people here on the estate. The way they support one another and work together is something I’m very proud of.

“And thank you to our guests who continue to celebrate with us and spend their time here. Their support means everything.”

Forge is open Thursday to Sunday for evening service, offering six- and ten-course tasting menus. The six-course menu is priced at £80 and the ten-course menu at £125.

Wine pairings are available at £60 for six courses and £85 for ten courses. Vegetarian and vegan menus are available. Bedrooms on the estate start from £250 per night.
