Wilton Universal Group is supporting growing recruitment & HR specialist Jackson Hogg with its expansion into Tees Valley with office space at the Haverton Hill Offshore Base.
Opening its office with a team of eight people, Jackson Hogg is already planning to increase its headcount to 20 in the coming months as it supports the industrial and tech-led regeneration of the area.
As a STEM focused business built on establishing trusted long-term client relationships, Jackson Hogg provides a range of outsourced HR services to businesses in the science, technology, engineering and manufacturing sectors
With an existing office in Newcastle, and a US-based team supporting American tech clients, Jackson Hogg, which employs more than 90 people, has been active in Tees Valley for some time.
As a result of increased investment in Tees Valley, particularly driven by the transformation of the former Redcar steelworks site into Teesworks, and the creation of the Teesside Freeport, Jackson Hogg is strengthening its position in the area.
The firm is the latest to take advantage of being based at the Haverton Hill facility. Following Wilton’s acquisition of the 58-acre site in 2021, it has undergone significant refurbishment and upgrades to welcome new tenants and operations. It joins Wilton’s adjacent Port Clarence Offshore Base on the banks of the River Tees creating a 112-acre super site.
Richard Hogg, CEO of Jackson Hogg, said: “Tees Valley is becoming a focal point for investment into industrial and scientific developments, and we are keen to increase the role we are playing in these markets and contribute to the economic success of the area.
“Being within the Freeport zone, which will include exciting developments such as GE’s turbine manufacturing facility and the recently announced SeAH Wind monopile factory, as well as close to Wilton International, we can build on our existing presence to support these large companies and their growing supply chains.”
Bill Scott OBE, chief executive of Wilton Universal Group, said: “Haverton Hill Offshore Base has not only increased our own capacity to take more and larger projects, but it’s also attracting businesses like Jackson Hogg that are keen to be part of Tees Valley’s 21st century renaissance.
“We’re establishing an engineering and logistics hub on the banks of River Tees that will contribute to a sustainable future for this area and we’re delighted to welcome Richard and his team who will make an important contribution.”
