A sales and marketing business with B Corp status has celebrated its tenth anniversary at the heart of the Stockton community, following a decade of fundraising and “using business as a force for good”.
Just Williams has made a significant impact on charities and voluntary organisations across the Borough raising nearly £50,000 in 10 years and in 2025, 12 charities have benefitted from £6,000 from its Just Williams Community Fund.
Over the past decade, sales and marketing expert Jessica Williams and her team have tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks, marathons and events – with Jessica even travelling as far as Vancouver to complete a gruelling running challenge.
The firm has raised thousands of pounds, while encouraging other businesses to join in too!
Closer to home, the team at Just Williams have organised litter picks around the Tees Barrage, continuously galvanising other businesses in their efforts and creating networking opportunities at the same time.
Just Williams also regularly hosts workshops and seminars to help charities and community interest companies (CICs) with attracting corporate sponsorship.
These outstanding efforts have placed Just Williams at the heart of the community in Stockton for ten years - and has seen the firm partner with Catalyst Stockton, who will benefit from its Just Williams Community Fund throughout 2025.
The fund has already had a significant positive impact, providing £6,000 to a wide range of charities across Stockton, with ambitions to continue supporting many more third sector organisations for the rest of the year.
"At Just Williams, we believe that business should be used as a force for good,” Jessica says.
“That belief is at the heart of everything we do, and it's why becoming the first Certified B Corp in the region was such an important milestone for us.
“When we turned 10 years old as a business, we knew we wanted to mark the occasion in a meaningful way, and that’s how the Just Williams Community Fund was born.”
The Fund was created in partnership with Catalyst because Jessica recognised their “incredible knowledge of, and connection to, the local community”.
“Their understanding of where support is most needed meant we could make a real and immediate difference, something that aligns perfectly with our values,” Jessica said.
“From the outset, the Fund has enabled us to support grassroots organisations delivering vital services, and the impact has already been both visible and inspiring.
“The success of the Fund so far has reaffirmed our commitment to it, and we’re proud to say that we’ll be reopening it in the near future to offer support to even more charities across the region.”
Just Williams, the SME agency providing a wide range of sales and marketing solutions for businesses, has been praised by Megan Stevens, CSR co-ordinator at Catalyst Stockton, who spoke of the many events Just Williams have put on to raise funds for local charities, from bake sales and litter picks to marathons and fundraising workshops to help charities understand how they can attract more funding from local businesses.
“We simply can’t thank Jessica and all the team at Just Williams enough for what they have done for many of the charities we work with across the Borough,” Megan said.
“They have always supported us and they also do a lot of volunteering at Christmas, providing gifts and food for charities that need them, getting other businesses to do the same and helping to deliver them.
“We’re so happy they have said they want to continue helping us on a long-term basis as everything they have already done for us and the charities we work with has had a massive positive impact, and the feedback we have had from the charities who have benefited from the support of Just Williams has been amazing.”
Megan says the Just Williams Community Fund has enabled charities and community interest companies (CICs) to deliver vital community projects, to benefit a wide range of local people.
In total, 12 charities have benefited from the first round of funding from the Just Williams Community Fund – including Creative Village, which was set up in 2013 and uses arts and crafts to engage with people of all ages across Stockton.
Jess Roberts, director of Creative Village, said the charity had built up a good relationship with Just Williams, which she is keen to continue.
The company’s marketing manager Luke Lane visited one of their recent workshops to see first-hand the positive difference their work is making in the community.
Jess said: “We received £500 from the fund, which meant we could offer two of our groups to take part in workshops making silver jewellery and ceramics.
“This included a group of teenagers who struggle with social situations for a variety of reasons, who were able to make a meaningful gift or keepsake and an older group who are unable to work sometimes due to mental ill health.
“A few weeks ago, I also went to a talk Just Williams did at Catalyst about how to approach businesses for funding and from there, I have been able to develop a package we can offer businesses with different budgets in order to get more support.
“It was so useful – I had an insane amount of notes at the end of it!”
Demonstrating Just Williams’ commitment to continuing its fundraising and practical support, Jessica said: “We are passionate about continuing to use our business as a platform for positive change, and growing the Fund is one of the key ways we’ll do that."
