As we enter an era where cyberattacks are not just probable but inevitable, it’s more important than ever for businesses to have robust and affordable means of defence. Small businesses in particular face a steep challenge – with almost 50% reporting being victims of cybercrime.
Hebburn-based business HTG and creator of the North East’s first Microsoft Centre of Excellence has been calling for businesses to take a more active look at their cybersecurity posture as reports of ransomware attacks and data breaches continue to rise.
As part of this drive, the company have created “HTG Overwatch,” a security service that helps businesses fortify their defences against cyber attacks and data compromise.
“It’s more than just a service;” says Niall Quinn, Operations Director at HTG, “it's a commitment to resilience and security in a digital world fraught with risks. Aligned with the industry-recognized zero-trust security model, the service is built upon continuous verification and strict access controls, adhering to the CIS Framework. When combined, this empowers businesses to operate in a protected and assured state of compliance.”
The service initially launched in the North East of England before expanding throughout England, Scotland, and Wales, then – most recently – Ireland.
"We’re fiercely proud of our North East roots and are dedicated to sharing our successes with our people and region. It’s why we’re a proud member of the South Tyneside pledge, why we created a local Microsoft Centre of Excellence, and why we engage with apprenticeship schemes to give local young people an opportunity to start a career in tech in the North East.” says Kevin Howell, CEO and Founder of HTG.
“It’s with that mindset that we created HTG Overwatch; to help protect businesses and charities in our local area as a response to the growing threat of cybercrime. To that end, we built the service around three pillars – Protect, Secure, and Recover – which, when combined, empower a business to operate confidently. Knowing that, in the event of an attack, they will experience a safe and successful managed recovery, minimising potential data loss or financial damage. And that’s what it’s all about really”
