Nuvo Wellbeing Celebrates 17 Years of Transforming Lives Through Dance and Wellbeing

Nuvo Wellbeing is celebrating 17 years of improving health and wellbeing across the North East, having supported over 54,000 people through its community dance and wellbeing programmes and positively impacted over 12,500 people worldwide through its global training provision.

Founded in 2008 by Bethany Ainsley, a 2024 Entrepreneurs’ Forum Award Finalist, Nuvo Wellbeing was created to support underserved communities through accessible wellbeing initiatives. Its success is evident—not only in the thousands it has helped, including people with dementia, carers, adults with learning disabilities, cancer patients, and socially isolated people but also in its ability to create real opportunities. Two former Nuvo Children’s Dance Academy students have progressed to core team members, with one now serving as COO and the other as a Project Administrator—a testament to the organisation’s commitment to long-term impact.

To mark this milestone, Nuvo Wellbeing, with host Alfie Joey, is hosting a Strictly-style fundraising event on 30th October at Hardwick Hall Hotel, bringing together organisations from across the region to compete and raise funds for the Nuvo Dance Academies, which are endorsed by Lord of the Dance star and Nuvo's Global Patron Michael Flatley, and North Tees Children’s Ward, supporting the health and wellbeing of children and families across the region.

With the event proving extremely popular, with organisations such as Ward Hadaway, Venture Stream and Recovery Connections taking part, only one final performance space remains, and sponsorship opportunities are still available.
