O.Agency Celebrates 20th Year Milestone with Major Award

O.agency has been named the large ‘North East Agency of the Year’, ending its 20th anniversary year on a high at the North East Marketing Awards at the Vertu Motors Arena.

Alongside the agency category win, O picked up the Best Campaign (over £50k) award for its work with Darlington Building Society’s ‘We Did That’ first ever integrated brand campaign, which generated over £19m new savings deposits. With O as lead creative, comms and activation agency, they team brought in Waterfall for TV ad production, SD Advertising and Route for digital and OOH ads and MMC Research for consumer insight, the campaign was a fantastic representation of North East collaboration and a bold approach to brand led comms.

Speaking at the awards, the judges commended O.agency not just for a pivotal year with new Original Thinking services launched to market and continued client success, but for its twenty years of heritage on the North East marketing scene, its dedication to the impact it makes for its clients and its community service, including its award-winning GrOw youth programme that connects students, educators and industry professionals to provide real-world learning experiences and mentoring in the North East’s creative sector.

Kirsty Ostell, Managing Director of O.agency, said: “We were taken aback to win this award in such stellar company in the category, and our team is bursting with pride to see our approach to long term client success, sustainable business growth and the impact we make in our home region impressed the judges enough to award us Best Agency. Supporting the North East has been woven into our DNA for 20 years, we’ve been committed to helping homegrown brands and businesses succeed, attracting visitors to our region, making the creative industry inspiring for young people and creating a special workplace culture. In this milestone year, we set out to do as much as we could to support our clients in changing times, to make budgets work hard with big ideas and give as much time and opportunity as possible young people entering this industry, at a time when they needed it most, and we’re really proud of what we have achieved together over the last 12 months.”
