Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Ladies Day is back for 2024! The popular fundraiser returns for a third year on Friday 6 September (10am - 4.30pm) at the Hilton Gateshead, Newcastle following a sell-out 2023 which saw 250 business leaders from across the region come out in force to raise awareness and an almighty £30,000 for the charity.
The team behind this year’s event are on a mission to elevate Ladies Day even further in their plight to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK. News has landed that growing, multi-award winning firm Talentheads will support the event as Headline Sponsor, following close ties and participating in exciting team fundraisers for the charity over the last couple of years.
The recruitment and talent development firm who’ve recently expanded with a base into Durham have had social responsibility at the forefront of everything they do from their inception, and this continues to be embedded into their ethos.
Sam Spoors, Founder and Managing Director, Talentheads said:
“Alzheimer’s Research is so aligned to the Talentheads values of Community, Brave and Legacy, it feels like a natural partnership. Personally linked to the lives of several of our team, we are so proud to support a charity that we so genuinely care and are passionate about.
It is exciting times ahead as our partnership together develops and our journey continues. Here at Talentheads we are thrilled that our CSR strategy comes to life with Alzheimer’s Research to improve the lives and situations of so many in our communities.”
To support the mission and to further excel on last year’s astounding fundraising, Sara Grix (Alzheimer’s Research UK) has recruited a committee of regional business leaders to support behind the scenes including Scott Wilson-Laing, WL Distillery, Sam Spoors, Talentheads, Jane Dennison, Dragonfly Cancer Trust, Lauren McWiliams, Visibility Strategist and Brand Photographer and Claire Pickersgill, House of Hype and Co.
The committee are already in awe at the amount of support and traction the event has gained so far with VIP tickets selling out in record time, with key sponsors onboard including Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, Ramsay Healthcare and The Perfume Shop, alongside EMG Solicitors, Oculus HR, Exitalis Solutions, Entrepreneurs from The NatWest Accelerator programme and Barclays all pledging their support for the event.
Ramsay Health Care, a global leader in the independent healthcare sector with 480 facilities across five countries and 34 hospitals in the UK are joining the event as sponsors again, a spokesperson for Ramsay Health Care said:
“We are grateful and proud to be part of such a meaningful event. Alzheimer’s Research UK is a charity close to many of Ramsay Health Care employees and consultants. Our hospitals are dementia friendly, and we want to support in finding a cure.”
Sara Grix, Regional Fundraising Officer, Alzheimer’s Research UK said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to return with our popular Ladies Day again this year, the support we’ve had from businesses and the B2B community overall has been magnificent, and we can’t thank our partners enough in supporting our mission to build on last year’s fantastic fundraising.
The last two years have clearly shown the power in coming together behind a cause that touches so many of us. We really can’t wait to showcase what we’ve been working on behind the scenes, roll-on September!”
Hollywood Glam will be the theme of the day and the emotional and exhilarating day will include an action-packed agenda with local pop-up retailers in attendance, insightful panel discussions, fantastic raffles, a live auction hosted by North East favourite and former BBC Radio Newcastle presenter, Alfie Joey, alongside a sumptuous dining itinerary and entertainment, all topped off with an exclusive afterparty at the 3Sixty Champagne Lounge.
Alfie Joey said:
"This is a relatively new event but already it is a fixture on the 'Making A Difference ' calendar for the North East. Everyone knows or has been touched by what Alzheimer's can do to a family and an individual. So cruel, so unfair and as many of us are living longer, more of us are likely to be affected if we do not support crucial research. If you can donate in ANY way, by attending or gifting an auction prize, the charity will be more than grateful. I will give the auction my all for Alzheimer's Research UK, at The Hilton on 6th September."
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity. The charity’s vision is of a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia.
