A BUSINESS podcast is marking a major milestone with a special live episode.
PRsonal was created by the Darlington-based PR agency Harvey & Hugo to discuss subjects deemed “taboo” for the workplace.
Now the company is set to record the 50th episode live at the upcoming TedXTeessideWomen event at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
Having launched the show in February 2023, presenter Charlotte Nichols believes PRsonal has successfully managed to “break down barriers” within the North East’s business community.
“PRsonal has focussed on everything from suicide to stoma bags and I think what has resonated most with listeners is that nothing is off-limits,” said Charlotte, who also founded Harvey & Hugo.
“While the show largely features guests from the business world, our golden rule is that we don’t discuss work and stick to focussing on the person behind the brand.
“Many people have told me PRsonal has been a breath of fresh air, simply because we tackle the big issues in people’s lives that really should be discussed in the workplace but have been deemed to be taboo.
“To hit 50 episodes is a testament to how popular the show has become and how much of a connection it has made with our listeners, so we thought we should do something special to celebrate it.
“This is PRsonal’s first ever live episode and it promises to be an unforgettable experience. I’m a huge fan of TedXTeessideWomen, and I’m honoured to have a platform at the event to showcase the podcast.”
To date, guests on PRsonal have included presenter Alfie Joey, Headlight Project founder Catherine Devereux, Paralympian Lyndon Longhorne and Strictly Come Dancing’s JJ Chalmers.
In the podcast’s first year, it was nominated for a prize in the International Women’s Podcast Awards.
On the live show Charlotte will interview Yasmin Khan, a Welsh Government advisor and founder of the Halo Project.
The award-winning charity supports black and minority victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
For Charlotte, Yasmin is the “perfect” guest for the live show at TedXTeessideWomen, an event aimed at celebrating diversity – and the power of the North East’s women.
“The show has long had a particular focus on the issues women face, everything from FGM to infertility and IVF which is an issue close to my own heart,” added Charlotte.
“So Yasmin was the perfect guest for the live show at TedXTeessideWomen, which is an event aimed not only at celebrating diversity but, just like PRsonal, breaking down barriers.”
TedXTeessideWomen takes place at The Crypt, in Middlesbrough Town Hall, on Wednesday October 16. For tickets or more information, visit https://www.tedxteessidewomen.com/
