Swarm, the fastest growing green energy company in the North East, today announced the launch of its first product, the Hub:One.
Designed and built in Swarm’s on-site lab in Byker, Hub:One is a home energy
management system (HEMS) that will enable homeowners to exert unparalleled control
over their renewable energy usage and savings, marking a significant step forward in the
sustainable energy landscape.
As the National Grid is plagued by blackouts and brownouts when demand is too high,
the Hub:One seamlessly connects homes that have excess energy to the grid, boosting
production. National uptake of the Hub:One device will create an invaluable network
that can support the National Grid at times of peak capacity.
Homes with the Hub:One device installed will also benefit from the release of Swarm’s
Virtual Power Plant (VPP). Through collective selling, especially during peak grid
demands, Swarm users can earn significantly more for every kilowatt fed back.
The Hub:One serves as the central hub for energy installations, adeptly managing,
coordinating, and optimising energy generation, storage, and usage based on grid
pricing. This intelligent system is designed to maximise savings for customers, with
early calculations indicating that the average solar owner could save £40 per month on
their energy bills.
The Hub:One stands out by offering comprehensive support for all major inverters,
electric vehicle (EV) chargers, and heat-pump brands. An ambitious expansion plan is
in place to increase partner integrations over the next six months, ensuring that
customers have the flexibility to customise their systems according to their
preferences.
Swarm is already working with national solar panel installers of all sizes to offer the
Hub:One alongside their usual services, augmenting homeowners’ renewable energy
ecosystems with increased control and greater cost savings. Swarm is on a mission to
build a community of installers across the country and grow a network of passionate
green energy specialists who promote customer-centric renewable devices.
“After months of graft from the team, we’re ecstatic to officially let Hub:One loose into
the world. There’s a huge gap in the industry for an agnostic HEMS device that can
seamlessly fit into any domestic renewable energy setup, but it’s a gap that we’ve just
filled. As we add more compatible devices and tech partners over the coming months,
we can’t wait to see the positive effect this technology is going to have on homeowners’
energy bills, as well as the business growth this will lend to Swarm installers.” Said Dan
Martin, CEO of Swarm.
