Together We Can Take On The World

10 May 2018, 08:00 - 17:00

Crowne Plaza Hotel Stephenson Quarter Hawthorne Square Forth St Newcastle NE1 3SA

Sponsored by Fairstone Group, our entrepreneurs' conference will see 300 business leaders come together at the Crowne Plaza Newcastle, for what is the highlight of our event calendar and promises to be an inspirational day of shared knowledge and new connections, alongside some laughs from our host, BBC Radio Newcastle presenter Alfie Joey.

This year we look forward to welcoming some amazing speakers including:

Sir John Timpson, Timpsons - knighted for his services to business, John is the chairman and owner of Timpson, a UK shoe repair chain that employs almost 4,000 colleagues and has over 1,850 stores. Running the business through kindness, he writes a weekly management column in The Daily Telegraph and has authored several books about his 'upside-down' management style.

Mica McNeill, Team GB Bobsleigher - after financial 'mismanagement' at British Bobsleigh ended Mica hopes of a place at the 2018 Winter Olympics she took matters into her own hands. Crowdfunding the money to complete her season Mica smashed her target in five days. #PoweredByThePeople she finished 8th at Pyeongchang, the best ever by a British women's Olympic bobsleigh team.

Angus Thirwell, Hotel Chocolat - starting Hotel Chocolat in 2004, Angus has grown the business and brand into one of the most innovative and highly respected super-premium chocolatiers in the world. Now a publicly listed company, they continue to go from strength to strength with Angus continuing to eat chocolate every day and approve every single recipe the company produces!

Mark Beaumont, Athlete & Adventurer - a decade of incredible journeys, expeditions and challenges have taken Mark to over 100 countries. Pushing the boundaries of ultra-endurance on his bike with a trip around the World and the Americas, he then rowed the Arctic and Atlantic oceans and recently got back in the saddle for a solo Africa adventure.

Julian Leighton, Orange Bus - a tale of individualism, repeated risk-taking, getting shafted, learning to do things you don’t like doing and finding strength in the face of adversity. Julian's journey is one of endurance; the highs and lows from a non-conformist teenager to pioneering interaction design agency owner and a multi-million-pound acquisition success.

This event is always a sell-out so book your spaces now while you still can.
