Chris March’s name is synonymous with the North East’s media and marketing landscape. A true industry pioneer, his career has spanned decades of transformation – from the golden age of print to the ever-evolving world of digital – and at every stage, Chris has been at the forefront, leading the charge with clarity, creativity and commercial savvy.

It all began at ncjMedia, where Chris cut his teeth in sales and publishing before moving into high-end national and international titles. But it was back on home soil where his entrepreneurial spirit truly took flight. Founding Room501 and later Remember Media, bringing to life a string of iconic publications, from BQ and Luxe to Fenwick Magazine and NE1. His visionary approach didn’t stop at magazines. He built entire content ecosystems, blending print, digital and live platforms to redefine how stories are told and audiences engaged.

Spotting the shift towards digital early, Chris co-created Digital Allies, a move that would eventually see the birth of Allies Group: a bold fusion of publishing, digital marketing and data insight. Today, Allies Group is a powerhouse, helping businesses navigate complex communications challenges with strategic, results-driven thinking.

Chris isn’t just a media mastermind. He’s a connector, a champion of the North East and a purpose-led leader. As a father of two daughters - and having previously served as a Trustee of the Power of Women campaign, which was the brainchild of Simon Roche MBE and the late Professor Jane Turner OBE - he is committed to creating opportunities for the next generation (especially young women) to thrive.

The rare combination of visionary and grafter, Chris’ journey is a powerful example of reinvention, resilience and relentless ambition. Join us for an exclusive evening as he reflects on his remarkable path, shares the lessons he’s learned along the way, and gives us a glimpse into what’s next for the ever-changing world of media and marketing.

Spaces are limited, so don’t miss your seat at the table.
