Cafe 21, Trinity Gardens, Quayside, Newcastle NE1 2HH
Five years ago Alice Hall spent her lunchtime fulfilling eBay orders at the Post Office. Now, as leader of a fashion business, she finds herself sat alongside Gareth Bale, Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely and Emeli Sande as one of Forbes’ 2017 ‘30 Under 30, Europe’.
From humble beginnings, the Pink Boutique fashion empire is a truly inspiring North East success story. The Group ships more than 4,000 products globally every day, with around 70 people employed at the 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Newcastle.
Over dinner, Alice will be sharing how she spotted a gap in the market for glamorous outfits and has turned an initial investment of just £90 into sales of more than £22m, with the help of social media.
Attributing almost 95% of sales to their social media channels, Pink Boutique has well over 1m followers and a growth strategy that will keep them at the forefront of online developments for years to come.
Of course it’s not all perfect, but being listed in the Fast Track 100 for a third year (this time at number 24) and with the vision to become a globally recognised brand, we’ve no doubt there’s a lot more to come from Alice in the next five years too.EXPLORE the manufacturing challenges of releasing up to 20 new styles a day.
