Pentland is the name behind some of the world's best-known sports, outdoor and fashion brands.

Based in the UK, the private family business owns Speedo, Canterbury, Berghaus, Ellesse, Boxfresh, Red or Dead and Mitre and is the international footwear licensee for Lacoste and Ted Baker.

The group also holds a majority shareholding in JD Sports, an international multichannel retailer operating over 1,300 stores and numerous online businesses.

Andy Rubin is the third generation in his family to lead the brand management business.

Founded in Liverpool in the early 1930's, Pentland was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1964, before becoming privately-owned again in 1999.

Annual sales have reached $3bn across 190 countries, proving their brands are loved by people the world over and the business is thriving thanks to its strong family values and a focus on staff driving the day-to-day.

Vice-president of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry, chair of the Dean’s Council at Lancaster University Management School, Andy is also on the international advisory board for British/American Business and involved in numerous charities.
