Forum conference planned to ‘re-energise business leaders’

The North East’s largest entrepreneurial network has revealed its plans to ‘re-energise business leaders’ as it prepares to host its first flagship event of the year.

The Entrepreneurs’ Forum has announced its spring conference, Fortune Favours the Brave, will focus on sharing stories of entrepreneurship at every stage of the journey, providing its members with the inspiration, advice and support to thrive.

Entrepreneurs who attend on the day will hear from Chrissie Rucker OBE, founder of international retailer The White Company on building strongly and sustainably; Juliet Barratt, co-founder of £200m confectionery giant Grenade on competing in a fierce marketplace; Eran Fine, serial tech entrepreneur and founder of NanoLock on building a tech unicorn; Liam White, co-founder of condiment brand Dr. Will’s on creating eco-friendly products and happiness guru Danny Bent on facing your fears.

The conference is one of the key events planned to mark the 20th anniversary of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum this year.

Founded in 2002 by Sir Peter Vardy and Lorna Moran OBE, the Entrepreneurs’ Forum has supported over 1,500 entrepreneurial founders and organised hundreds of events hosting over 30,000 delegates. Past speakers have included Sir Richard Branson, Sir Bob Geldof, Elle Macpherson and Sir John Timpson.

Elaine Stroud, Chief Executive of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum said, “We are very proud of our 20-year history supporting North East entrepreneurs to thrive.

“This year, to mark our anniversary, we’re planning more events than ever before with the aim of bringing our members together to learn, share advice and be inspired by other entrepreneurs.

“Our conferences provide a perfect platform for this and offer our members the opportunity to not only hear from entrepreneurs at every stage of the journey but also to connect with over 250 North East business leaders.

“There’s always a fantastic buzz in the room and this year promises to be another inspirational day.”

This year, the conference will take place at Hardwick Hall Hotel on Thursday 26th May, 8am - 5pm. Hosted by Sky Sports presenter and journalist Pete Graves, it is supported by British Business Bank, Business Durham, Double Eleven, J&B Recycling, Kinnery, North East Growth Hub, NRG, UMi, Wander Films and Week 2 Week Serviced Apartments.

Places cost £99 + VAT for Forum members and their guests. See entrepreneursforum.net or contact 0191 500 7780.
