From 11–20 November 2026, entrepreneurs, investors, universities, the public sector, and businesses from across the North East will come together for the first North East Entrepreneurship Week.

Brought together by the Entrepreneurs’ Forum with more than a dozen partners, the Week is built for entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners at every stage. From people thinking about starting a business, to those taking on their first employees and established businesses scaling nationally and internationally, North East Entrepreneurship Week aims to make entrepreneurship more visible, connect people with experience and opportunities, and show the next generation what is possible.

Whether you’re thinking about starting a business, taking on your first employees or scaling internationally, there are opportunities to learn, connect, and get involved throughout the Week.

The Programme

Designed to make entrepreneurship more visible, connect people with experience and opportunities, and encourage more people to start, build and grow businesses in the North East, there is something for every stage of business ownership.

The programme includes entrepreneur-led half-day ScaleUp Summits in Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough, the launch of a new region-wide 'Ones to Watch' Index, peer-to-peer mentoring clinics, entrepreneur visits to schools, and a programme of independently organised Fringe Events.

The Week culminates with the annual North East Entrepreneurial Awards on 19 November.

North East Entrepreneurship Week forms part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, an international celebration of entrepreneurship held each November.

Developed specifically for the people, businesses and opportunities of the North East, it takes place from 11–20 November 2026, bringing together entrepreneurs and organisations from across the region to help more people start, build and grow businesses here.
