Host of our upcoming spring conference, Alfie Joey shares his proudest moments, how he deals with stress and where he'd go if he had a time machine!
What was your first job?
My first paid job as an adult was Toy Demonstrator in Harrods.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
Most people might not know I was a qualified football referee (English AND Irish FA, many moons ago!).
What would your specialist subject be on Mastermind?
The Watergate Scandal (for years I’ve collected books on it).
Who, dead or alive, would you like to have dinner with?
I would love dinner with Debbie Millman, great podcaster, communicator and designer.
What are you most proud of?
(Children aside) Most recently I’m proud of the students who performed brilliantly on my ‘Confidence Through Comedy’ course. Fear and fun all the way!
How do you unwind or deal with stress?
Watching Ted Lasso with my daughter and binging the old series 24 with my son.
If you had a time machine, where would you go and why?
Dickensian London. I’d love to walk the streets mentioned in A Christmas Carol in the 1840s. (It is my favourite story.)
What is your biggest fear?
I love exercise, but I am not an adrenaline junkie, so I’ll pass on the bungee jump!
