Businesses across Tees Valley can find out how to benefit from major cycling events such as the Tour of Britain Women ahead of the race coming to the region in June.
An online event is being hosted by Visit Tees Valley Business Network with British Cycling on Thursday 22 May from 10am to 11am.
The webinar will offer expert insights into how businesses can get involved in the upcoming event and make the most of the growing interest in cycling tourism across Tees Valley.
The Tour of Britain Women’s race will pass through Tees Valley on 5-6 June, drawing elite athletes, national media coverage, and thousands of visitors.
Stage 1 will see riders race from Dalby Forest in North Yorkshire into Redcar and Cleveland to a finish on Redcar seafront. Stage 2 begins at Hartlepool Marina and travels across Tees Valley through locations including Billingham, Yarm, Guisborough and Brotton before finishing in Saltburn.
From retailers and hoteliers to cultural venues and local attractions, the webinar is a must-attend for any business looking to connect with new audiences and embrace the economic opportunities this high-profile event will bring.
Attendees will learn how to prepare for the influx of visitors, promote their services, and contribute to a vibrant atmosphere. There will be opportunity to ask questions about the event or more generally about cycling tourism.
Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: "The Tour of Britain Women’s race is another huge moment for Tees Valley, putting us on the national stage and showing off everything our area has to offer.
“We want local businesses to benefit as much as possible – and his webinar is a great way for businesses to learn how they can get involved and capitalise from the excitement — not just during the race, but well into the future as we grow our cycling tourism sector."
This webinar is part of a wider focus on cycling tourism in Tees Valley in partnership with British Cycling, with more to come later in the year.
