In amazing news, Inspired HR has joined the Play It Green community. The company is now educating its team and clients on sustainability.
Not only that, but they are planting no less than 13 trees every month to rebalance each team member’s footprint. They are also looking to increase this further through their clients. Finally, 50p of every monthly £5 subscription is regiven to the Down Syndrome North East Charity.
Inspired HR specialises in providing high-quality, pragmatic HR services to SMEs. As well as offering a recruitment and management training service to the wider business and HR communities.
We caught up with Inspired HR’s Founder and Managing Director, Nikki Masterman to find out more about her company and what the future holds for it.
Please, tell us a little about Inspired HR
Following a 24-year career within the corporate HR world, and my personal experience of poor HR, I decided to set up my business in March 2017. The mission of Inspired HR is to show others “how to do great HR” and “value their people”. I chose to work within the SME market as I knew my skills and knowledge would be invaluable to a smaller business. Those looking to build a great people culture and I wanted to make a difference for them. SMEs also fit very well with my company values of “Family, Real Relationships, Integrity, Enthusiasm, No-nonsense, Dedicated and Simple” (FRIENDS).
Why is sustainability important to you?
During the pandemic and lockdown, it was clear the damage that we had done to the planet as it was so visibly healing during that time. This gave me hope about the future of the planet and how it would affect the future generations of my children. I want to hang on to that hope and make small changes to sustain that healing long-term. For my family and the planet and I can also encourage this through Inspired HR’s clients.
Why did Inspired HR decide to collaborate with Play It Green?
Making a difference in your life or the world for me is about making smaller changes that can be sustained instead of ALL or NOTHING. When I think about sustainability I want to make small changes that can be consistent and embedded. A bit like when I want to be healthy or lose weight. If I suddenly cut out all things bad for me I will quickly become bored, forget or cheat. However, if I make smaller changes to my eating and lifestyle it becomes a habit and therefore a longer-term change. Play it Green has built their brand on the “making a small change” concept so this resonated with me.
What does the future hold for Inspired HR?
We have big plans for the future as my HR model has been so well received by my clients. I have so many HR peers coming to me for voluntary mentoring and support to build an HR Consultancy. So much so, that I have decided to build a franchise model over the next two years. This is so that we can duplicate what we have done at Inspired HR and through this, I can help other peers succeed with me. This will also benefit any partners I work with like yourselves as our partners will become either mandatory or recommended as part of our future model.
Quotes
Nikki Masterman - Founder, Inspired HR
“I love the sustainability model in place with Play it Green. It aligns with my personal and business values and the contributions made to Charities are what nailed the partnership for me. They are now donating regularly to a charity that is close to my heart due to my grandson being born with Down Syndrome last year. I also have the flexibility to change my charity every 6 months as I also love Dogs 4 Rescue which they have partnered with. I look forward to making their suggested sustainability changes in life and business and sharing these with my clients.”
Richard Dickson, Co-Founder Play It Green “I was introduced to Nikki by the amazing Zoe Maylam. After one meeting, I knew that we were aligned around better business, health and well-being, sustainability and so much more.
"Fast forward a few months and we are now partnered to help make the world a better and more sustainable place! Thank you to Nikki and the team at Inspired HR!”
