INTU Duo Join Adderstone Group

Former intu Property Director, Kate Grant and Development Manager, Nelson Carr have joined Newcastle based investors and developers, Adderstone Group.

Between them, the pair amassed almost 30 years of experience at intu and both join Adderstone Group to help grow and manage its expanding nation-wide portfolio.

Kate Grant spent over 23 years in in various senior management roles, most recently as Regional Managing Director responsible for 7 shopping centres across the UK, including Lakeside, Metrocentre and Eldon Square.

Kate joins Adderstone Group as Director of Estates, where she will take overall responsibility for the management of Adderstone Group’s growing commercial property portfolio, which currently comprises almost 2 million sq, ft of assets and over 140 business clients.

Kate said: “Adderstone Group is a highly entrepreneurial and well-regarded business with a strong track record of investing in, developing and managing a diverse portfolio.  I look forward to joining the team for the next stage of the journey.”

Nelson Carr is Adderstone Group’s Development and Investment Manager, responsible for commercial deal origination and maximising development opportunities within the portfolio.

Recent acquisitions have included Victoria Retail Park in Beverley, Middle Engine Lane in North Tyneside and Great Eastern Square in Felixstowe.

Away from the retail warehousing market, the Group struck the North East’s largest PBSA deal in March this year, worth in excess of £100m as part of a tie-up with IQ.  IQ were acquired by Blackstone earlier this year as part of the largest-ever private property deal in the UK. The deal will see IQ and Adderstone deliver 1,118 beds in a 16-storey scheme, directly opposite Northumbria University’s Law and Business School and next to the Manors metro station.
