Leading Women from Across the UK Come Together to Change Girls' Lives

Gold Medal-winning Olympian Katherine Copeland, future astronaut Asia Bulgarini, CEO Mandy Coppin and others are joining creative agency O Communications this International Women’s Day in a bid to change girls’ lives, all in aid of The Prince’s Trust.

The event, which takes place at 9am on Monday 8th March, aims to inspire young women and girls at any stage of their journey and whatever they want to achieve, discussing ambition, being brave and following their own path to success.

Lauren Regan, creative director at O Communications and panel member for the event said, “Sadly, young women in the UK are disproportionately disadvantaged compared to young men and the pandemic has exasperated this inequality. Young women were almost twice as likely to lose their jobs during the first wave of coronavirus and at the beginning of the pandemic a shocking 78% of the job losses were amongst females, and two thirds of these women were aged 18- 24. Over 1.5 million have lost income with manyfearful for their futures, saying finding a job now seems impossible.

“Seeing a diverse range of women representing, challenging and ideas and succeeding in a range of careers can really change a girl’s life. During the event we’ll be discussing what is means to have ambition, why it’s important to be inspired by a range of people and how being a leader doesn’t always mean being the boss.

The panel is made up of women who have really pushed the boundaries in their field, dared to be different and forged their own path; I can’t wait to hear their stories and find out what inspires and drives them.”

The panel for the event is made up of:

  • Katherine Copeland - gold medal-winning Olympian
  • Mandy Coppin - CEO
  • Kelsie Dugmore - Engineer
