The UK’s largest earthmoving attachment manufacturer of buckets and couplers – Miller UK – has increased its stock of quick hydraulic tilt couplers, following an appetite in the market driven by compact excavator operators.
Miller, headquartered in the North East of England and with facilities located across the globe, has invested a significant amount in bolstering its shelves with its GTT range – a 180ᵒ fully hydraulic tilting coupler – allowing machine operators to access hard to reach areas with ease.
Ideal for a range of applications from reclamation and cleaning works through to roadside maintenance and environmental remediation works - to name a few - the GTT is Miller’s largest selling range in Australia, which is known for its progressive approach to modern excavation practices.
With the GTT’s ability to enhance versatility and efficiency of excavators, Barry Robison, Group Sales and Commercial Director at Miller explains this has been a real driver for their adoption and why operators in the UK are now looking to have this work-tool - which is compatible with universal connection to all OEM attachments - on their machines.
“Since the launch of the GTT in 2019, we have seen a huge demand in Australia and New Zealand, which has filtered at a considerable rate through to the UK and Europe over the last 12 months.
“We have sold many units already in the UK since its launch, with customers reaping the rewards of the efficiencies the attachment delivers. With our tilt couplers being significantly more cost effective than attachments normally associated with the functionality the coupler delivers – such as a tilt rotator – the GTT has been a gamechanger for many users.”

Available for machines 1-6t, as far as the company is aware, the GTT is the lightest of its kind on the market. Built with high tensile steel, the GTT’s fully cast and low-profile design delivers a shorter pin to point measurement guaranteeing maximum breakout force for greater productivity and improved machine stability.
Sunk into the frame of the GTT for added protection, sits an actuator – known as the most reliable on the market – which allows for the most powerful rotation and requires minimum maintenance. With a heavy-duty spiral bevel motor, this achieves full 90ᵒ rotation with no loss of power at full tilt.
The GTT design is based on Miller’s hydraulic coupler, the GTS, which is very much tested and proven in the market in the most extreme conditions right across the globe. This is backed up by Miller’s rigorous in-house testing programme, which includes rigorous cycle-testing of the couplers to exceed their working lifetimes, with fatigue testing of the frame of over 100,000 cycles at loads surpassing those of an excavator.
For larger machines, Miller also offers its hydraulic Powerlatch Tilt – suitable for 3.5 – 20t machines – which delivers increased versatility in even the most challenging working environments.
