“Tyncen,” derived from the Old English word for “little tub,” are our firkin-sized casks. Their smaller format allows for a greater interaction between spirit and oak, resulting in exceptionally rich, complex flavours. As the whisky breathes through the wood, it develops remarkable depth, warmth, and character far beyond what you might expect from its size.
Each Tyncen barrel is individually cared for by hand, with its own unique personality. Within every cask, you’ll discover the gentle influence of oak, the sweetness of the malt, and subtle notes inspired by the wild landscape surrounding our distillery.
