Pacifica achieves EcoVadis Platinum rating, placing business in global top 1% for sustainability performance

Pacifica, the UK’s leading independent provider of domestic appliance repairs and extended warranties in the Major Domestic Appliance (MDA) market, has achieved Platinum status in its latest assessment by EcoVadis, placing the Group in the top 1% of companies assessed worldwide for sustainability performance.

The rating marks a significant progression from Pacifica’s previous Silver status and recognises continued investment across environmental performance, people and culture, governance and responsible supply-chain management.

EcoVadis is one of the world’s most trusted sustainability ratings providers, assessing tens of thousands of companies globally against international standards including the UN Global Compact and ISO frameworks.

Its assessments evaluate organisations across four key pillars, Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement, with Platinum awarded only to businesses demonstrating advanced, evidence-based sustainability practices.

Unlike many organisations where sustainability sits alongside operations, Pacifica’s core business model is inherently circular. The company repairs more than 360,000 domestic appliances each year, helping households extend product life and reduce waste.

Independent research commissioned by Pacifica shows a typical appliance repair produces just over 1% of the carbon emissions associated with replacement, with complex repairs generating less than 7% of the emissions of a new appliance.
Pacifica has committed to achieving net zero operational emissions by 2035 and has already reached carbon neutral status within its sector, supported by renewable electricity use, electric vehicle rollout and detailed carbon tracking across service delivery.

Alongside environmental progress, the assessment also recognised the company’s governance and social performance, including workforce training, safety standards, ethical compliance frameworks and responsible procurement practices embedded throughout its nationwide engineer network.

Kevin Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Pacifica, said: “Achieving EcoVadis Platinum status is a hugely significant milestone for Pacifica and something our entire team should be proud of. Being placed in the top 1% globally reflects not just strong policies, but the real actions our colleagues take every day to operate responsibly, ethically and sustainably.

“Sustainability is fundamental to what we do. At our core, Pacifica exists to keep appliances working safely and efficiently for longer, reducing unnecessary replacement and waste. This rating recognises that repairing products is only part of the story, it’s about how we run our business, how we treat our people, how we work with partners and how we continue to raise standards across our supply chain.”

“We describe Pacifica as a business for good because repair is fundamentally better for customers, communities and the environment. Achieving Platinum status sets a new benchmark for us. It strengthens our responsibility to keep improving and to help manufacturers, retailers and consumers move towards a repair-first mindset.”
