Robson Laidler Accountants Legal Account Manager Joe Brown will join the Northern Law Awards judging panel as the Firm collaborates with the awards for the second year running.
Chartered Accountant Joe who has worked within Robson Laidler’s Audit and Accounts departments for more than 13 years, will judge the Law Firm of the Year (6+ partners) category at the judging day on 8 May at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead.
Joining Joe on the judging panel will be other figureheads from the North East’s legal and business community.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 12 June at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead and will be hosted by North East legend; communication coach and former BBC Radio Newcastle presenter Alfie Joey.
The Northern Law Awards, which bring together a diverse group of lawyers, law firms, and in-house teams, recognises the exceptional legal talent and achievements within the region.
Commenting on the awards Joe said: “As an accountancy firm specialising in the legal sector, it’s a privilege to be part of the NLA judging panel. I was privileged to be on the panel for the 2024 Northern Law Awards, and I’m thrilled to be involved in the judging process once again this year.
“It’s inspiring to witness firsthand the dedication and effort behind the success of these large firms, and to celebrate those accomplishments alongside them.”

Joe jointly heads up Robson Laidler’s legal accounting team with director John Holbrook, acting for many of the region’s leading law firms by preparing statutory accounts, management accounts, SRA Accounts Rules audits, as well as advising on tax and business structure.
Both Joe and John regularly work on assignments with solicitors in areas such as business sales and acquisitions, property transactions, shareholder disputes, business and share valuations, shareholder agreements, forensic accounting, group and share restructuring.
