A traditional fish bar which serves 'simply the best fish and chips around' is bringing people into this County Durham village.

Grandpa's Fish Bar, based in Lanchester, only opened in March last year and has won plaudits online for its authenticity, quirky social media videos and quality.
The business, run by Rich and Aidan Weatherburn, recently announced it was expanding, going mobile and taking its fryers on the road with a new van.
On Facebook, Grandpa's Fish Bar boasts a 98 per cent positive review score, with customers repeatedly praising both the food and service.
One customer said: "Travelled from Crook today just to try Grandpa's Fish Bar and we weren't disappointed.
"We had small cod and chips and Irish curry sauce.
"The fish was lovely, white and flaky with a beautifully light, crispy batter.
"We will be very happy to go back."
Grandpa's has also found success on TikTok, where its most popular video has drawn more than 1.5 million views.
The shop has more than 6,000 followers and over 150,000 likes on the platform.
Another visitor said: "Simply the Best Fish and Chips Around! Without a doubt, this is the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Cooked the traditional way in beef dripping, the flavour is unbeatable—and it’s a far healthier option than the processed seed oils used elsewhere."
The shop's menu includes staples like cod and chips, haddock, cod bites, and a "Spitfire Box".
A customer on TripAdvisor said: "The food is always freshly made and served quickly, and the staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly.
"Every time I’m out on the bike with my daughter, she’s begging to stop by again."
With the addition of its new catering van, Grandpa’s Fish Bar is now planning to take their fish and chips to food festivals, weddings and village 'runs' - touring County Durham with the van in pop-up style events.
