Rapidly growing Middlesbrough-based production company and content marketing agency, Wander Films, has secured a coveted place on Channel 4’s revamped Business Boost Programme, aimed at empowering and supporting independent production companies outside of London.
Chosen as one of only 24 businesses making up the cohort, they have been recognised for their boundary-breaking digital content that has been making an impact across the UK and beyond since their inception in 2018.
Since then, they have grown substantially and taken on a range of major projects, most recently a second major BBC primetime documentary, The Ultimate Wingwalker.
The film, which followed the world's only formation wingwalking team, was filmed, directed and edited entirely in-house and executive produced by co-founders Chloë Clover and Lou Tonner.
Now, after being selected as part of the cohort and following several paid Channel 4 developments, they are taking their production arm to the next level.
Lou said: “We are incredibly excited to be chosen for Channel 4’s Business Boost. This opportunity allows us to focus our development efforts and strategy as well as confidently leading the team through the next phase of our growth”
Clover added: “We have a great relationship with Channel 4 and we really value their support for indies in the nations and regions.”
As part of the programme, Wander will receive bespsteven@netimesmagazine.co.ukoke support funded by Channel 4’s development and training programme 4Skills.
The Business Boost programme is designed to supercharge leadership and business skills for the UK’s most exciting rising stars in independent production, supporting the companies making a significant impact today and set to shape the industry’s future.
It’s hoped the programmes will help boost the creative sector in the long term, alongside championing more inclusion and opening up new opportunities for emerging businesses.
It adds to Wander's growing list of partnerships, as they continue to work with some of the world's biggest brands, including Greggs, KPMG and CoinCover, to name a few.
Bridging the gap between TV and digital, Wander is at the forefront of innovative storytelling with a range of exciting TV, brand and digital projects in production which promises to captivate audiences nationwide and beyond.
