One of the North East’s most successful entrepreneurs, David Soley began his career in the offshore oil and gas industry before taking the leap into entrepreneurship with the formation of Davy Offshore Modules in 1983.
In 1998, he moved into the hospitality business when he bought Castle Eden Brewery, and the purchase of Camerons Brewery followed shortly after.
Under David’s leadership, Camerons has become the largest independent brewery in the North East of England, with a stellar reputation for its ruby red bitter ‘Strongarm’ produced at the iconic Lion Brewery site in Hartlepool.
Major investment in the Lion Brewery site, combined with Camerons change in working culture, has resulted in a number of high profile client wins for the brewery and the opening of new Head of Steam outlets.
Away from Camerons, David has maintained his interest in the offshore industry, having recently formed a diamond wire cutting business for the de-commissioning industry, and is a true champion for the North East region, serving as Deputy Chair of the Tees Valley Combined Authority, chair of a number of local committees while also representing the LEP on various Northern Powerhouse initiatives.
Join us on February 13th to hear more of David’s story and to enjoy the company of friends and colleagues over a wonderful dinner in the atmospheric surroundings of Jesmond Dene House Hotel.
