The Great North Air Ambulance, Progress House, Urlay Nook Road, Eaglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees, TS16 0QB
Pass by The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) in Eaglescliffe and you may catch a glimpse of one of their helicopters, loaded with the latest medical equipment and ready to carry specially-trained paramedics and consultants.
Fast and reliable, the aircraft cover an area of about 8,000 square miles, handling challenging conditions in varied environments with ease, whether it’s a mountain range, urban centre or busy motorway.
At the core of GNAAS is a commitment to clinical innovation. By constantly reviewing the latest techniques, equipment and drugs, the charity ensures it can provide the best care possible for their patients. Some of their investments – such as the development of their bespoke incident tracking software or their adoption of the GoodSam app – has meant they are pioneering new treatments first and years before they reach other parts of the country.
Further cementing their commitment to clinical innovation, in 2020 the GNAAS completed its move to its new headquarters and world-class training facility at Progress House, Eaglescliffe. The facility brings together the fundraising, lottery, admin and operational teams under one roof for the first time while also hosting renowned pre-hospital medicine courses, attracting clinicians from all over the world.
Our upcoming tour of Progress House will provide an insight into how the team deliver world class pre-hospital care and their culture of innovation and excellence. With limited spaces available, don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn more about this innovative North East charity.
