Northern Print Solutions Group has completed the acquisition of Design Xpress, a highly regarded large format print and display specialist based in Consett.
The deal brings together two complementary businesses that have worked alongside each other for a number of years, making the move a natural next step as part of the group’s growth strategy.
The combined business now operates with a team of 24 employees across Gateshead, Durham and Consett, with turnover just over £3 million. The acquisition effectively doubles the size of the group and significantly expands its production capability.
Design Xpress has built a strong reputation for delivering technically demanding large format graphics, signage and display solutions across retail, hospitality, manufacturing and corporate environments.
Northern Print Solutions specialises in small format print, packaging, direct mail, fulfilment and campaign delivery, supporting multi site brands, marketing teams and agencies with structured, technology led delivery.
Together, the group now offers a fully integrated solution across design, small format, large format, packaging, POS, signage, display, direct mail and fulfilment, giving customers a more streamlined and scalable production partner across multiple channels.

The acquisition strengthens Northern Print Solutions Group’s position as a fast growing and acquisitive production group, focused on building a group of specialist businesses that retain their individual strengths while benefiting from shared expertise, systems and commercial structure.
Both businesses will continue operating from their existing sites with their current teams, while working more closely together to deliver enhanced capability and capacity for customers.
